Introduction of the CHESS Future Cryptography Conference

The Cyber-security Excellence Hub in Estonia and South Moravia (CHESS) brings together leading R&I institutions in both regions to build connected innovation ecosystems to address one of the most important issues confronting Europe today: Cyber-security. Within the framework of this project, Cybernetica AS (Cybernetica) will organise the Future Cryptography Conference in Tallinn on 13.05.2024. Experts in their fields from both Estonia and the Czechia will give presentations and give an overview of the state of the art in post-quantum cryptography.

By registering for the conference, you agree to the terms and conditions of the data processing disclosed in this privacy notice.

1. Personal data processed

Cybernetica will process your data when you register for the conference in accordance with the applicable privacy and data protection standards. In the framework of the conference, Cybernetica may process the following collected data: first name, surname, contact details and employer's name.

The information disclosed by conference participants will be used in generalised form and will not be linked to a specific individual.

2. Legal basis for the processing of personal data

The processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (consent of the data subject). The personal data will be used exclusively within the framework of the CHESS project and will be processed by Cybernetica and Republic of Estonia Information System Authority. Participation in the conference and any disclosure of data is voluntary.

3. Storage of personal data

Personal data will be deleted after the end of the project, at the latest by 31.12.2026

4. Involvement of EUSurvey as a Cybernetica processor

Cybernetica will use the EUSurvey (https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/home/welcome) to register for the conference. The EUSurvey Terms and Conditions for the processing of personal data are available here: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/home/privacystatement

5. Rights of data subjects

Consent to the processing of personal data can be withdrawn at any time by notifying Cybernetica by email at data-protection@cyber.ee. In this case, Cybernetica will cease further processing of personal data, but the data processing operations carried out so far will not be affected by the withdrawal of consent. The data subject has the right to know what data Cybernetica holds about him or her and to request a copy thereof. If necessary, it is possible to request the rectification, restriction or erasure of personal data.

6. Security of processing

Cybernetica uses effective technical and organisational measures to protect personal data and to ensure the security of processing.
